In English this term, the children in Year 1 have been learning the story ‘Monkey Puzzle’ as their talking text. To help us say our sentences out loud before we write, we all created a class text map and story map to sequence the main events.
We created actions for the amazing adjectives to help us remember and include these in our own story writing. We really enjoyed retelling our story together loud and proud, using our actions to be super storytellers. Here are some of our fun actions below!
When it was time to write we were really good at using our writing toolkit to remind us of our super sentence features such as capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. But we know when we write we can all make mistakes! I have been so proud hearing the children in 1CD taking the time to read back what they have written so that they can purple polish their work.
