Attendance

Good attendance is vital for children to achieve well and be happy at school.  Children who are absent regularly may fall behind or be unhappy coming to school.  Winton has an attendance policy which can be read by following the link below.  The aim of this policy is to do everything we can to ensure every child has good attendance at school.  This is because we know that children who attend well have the best chance of success in their education and we want every child to fulfil their potential.

Our policy outlines the responsibilities of the school, staff as well as parents and pupils.  It also offers information about the support that we can offer and the steps we will take to work with families to improve attendance when it is outside of expectations.  The school expects all children to have attendance at 96% or higher.  If a child has attendance below that level the policy explains how we will work to improve it.
