During Art lessons in Year 3 this term we have been discussing, exploring and experimenting with colour to meet the learning objective: ‘How did artists use colour, detail and contrast to show power and personality in royal portraits?’ We started by looking at contrasting colours and how striking this made the portraits of our royals. We looked at their expressions and why they might have posed in that way. We then created our own royal portraits inspired by our learning of colour and contrast and we were so pleased at the results.
