As part of the topic, ‘Who will I find in Winton?’ the children in Reception are meeting lots of important people from their local community. Recently, the children enjoyed visiting the local fire station and finding out about the job role of a fire fighter. The children explored the fire station and listened to the fire fighters explain how they help people in the local community. After a tour of the inside of the fire station, including the gym and the control room, the children were able to look inside the compartments of the fire engine! They also had a go at using a very powerful hose and getting into character by wearing a fire fighter uniform! Great work Year R, and many thanks to red watch at Redhill Fire Station!
