This half term in English, Year 3 have been using the ‘Marshmallows’ video from literacy shed to inspire their writing.
After learning and understanding the structure of the story really well, the children innovated by changing the problem and resolution sections, coming up with interesting alternative endings.
Finally, using the video, they changed the context from narrative to diary entry, writing a diary entry about the events from the perspective of the boy in the video.
Year 3 have worked really hard on their writing this half term and have produced some fantastic work. They have also thought really carefully about their purple polishing, reflecting on their work and editing to correct mistakes and make improvements.
We look forward to seeing what they come up with next half term when basing their writing on ‘Stone Age Boy’.
