Year 1 worked really hard during arts week. They were learning about Australia and created lots of Australian based art.
The children learnt about colour mixing to make a colour wheel turtle and a sunset picture.
They practised ripping paper to create a collage of Uluru, carefully selecting the right colour for different parts of the collage.
They used clay to make some exotic fish. The children rolled long sausages for the outline of the fish and then squashed balls of clay to fill the centre.
The children took inspiration from traditional Aboriginal dot art to paint Australian fish.
