This week the Year 1 children have loved exploring the school grounds looking for plants and trees as part of their science curriculum. We were lucky enough to have Mr Keeley; Winton’s expert gardener with us. The children enjoyed finding wallflowers, holly, iris, periwinkle, teasel, an oak tree, cordyline and buddleia. They learnt which trees and plants were evergreen and deciduous as well as some fun facts. I think Rosemary was the children’s favourite as they said it smelt delicious!
