Year 3 PSHE

Last week in PSHE, Year 3 learnt about some of the challenges people can face in their everyday lives. We explored the difficulties children with dyslexia face in school and tried to understand the issues children in wheelchairs may also face. The children then worked together in groups to identify other groups of people who may also face challenges in their everyday lives. They had very mature conversations throughout the class and identified several different groups of people who may face difficulties including people with visual and hearing impairments, hospitalised people and those with physical disabilities. Children came together in their groups to design a safe space garden for individuals who may fall within these groups to be able to relax and enjoy. Children were tasked with tailoring these gardens to match the specific needs of the intended group. This week children designed these gardens and created posters to attract the intended people to these gardens.
