At the beginning of this half term, we were learning to add 2-digit and 1-digit numbers in maths. To help us, we started by using practical resources. We used the dienes to represent the tens and ones and then collected the correct amount of ones to add on. We then had to count all of the dienes to work out what our total was.
As we became more confident, we were able to start drawing pictures of the dienes to help us instead of using the concrete resources.
