Year 1 have been learning about the history of our local High Street. To launch our new topic, we went on a walk and tallied what we could see on one section of Wimborne road including shops, restaurants, estate agents, salons and the post office. Year 1 enjoyed looking at photos and using online resources to see how our High Street had changed from the 1950s, to early 2000s, to now. As part of their learning, Year 1 watched videos and looked at photos of people visiting butchers, bakers and green grocers rather than going to a supermarket for their food. They found this fascinating and lots of questions! To land our topic, Year 1 were keen to share their learning with the local community and so we have displayed their learning at Bournemouth Library for all its visitors to view! Super work Year 1!
