Inspirational Inventor

The children in year 2 were inspired by an inventor recently, Dr. Apeh, from Bournemouth University. He came into school to talk to the children about ‘Inventors and how they changed the world.’ He spoke about inventors and how things were created. The children thought hard about the skills needed to be an inventor including the ability to problem solve, share ideas and be imaginative. The importance of identifying an area of need was explained and the children began to understand why inventing something with a purpose was so important. They were amazed to learn that the idea of fairy lights evolved from people using candles.  Many thanks to Dr. Apeh who really inspired the children to want to all become inventors in the future.
