As a landing to their topic, ‘What is in our local area?’, the children in year 1 were challenged to create a map! After visiting Moordown, to explore what land is used for around school, the children were ready to create a map including the human and physical features they saw. The children plotted on their maps; Moordown St John’s School, a post office, a church and finally Winton Primary School. Then, the children gave their map to a local nursery school to see if they could follow it, and they did! The excited nursery children arrived at our school ready for a treat and a little play. Well done all!
