Year six have made a great start by honing their art skills and building upon areas that they learnt about in year 5 such as sketching and their abilities to use water colours in interesting and imaginative ways.
They have also created poetry and written agony aunt letters advising a Cicada bug on how to get out of a rut in his job – this is link to a two week study of the book by the same name written by Australian author Shaun Tan. As well as some very good writing, the children have used their design technology skills to plan, make and evaluate a model of the cicadas head using wire mesh to help with the stability and form of the model.
