Last week Winton went to The Dorset School Games with our Year 4 Tennis team. Winton had qualified for this event as a result of winning the Bournemouth School’s competition. The day was a scorcher with the temperatures very hot indeed. Our tennis team would be tested to the maximum with 10 skill stations (many of them aerobic) in order to score points for the team. 10 other schools from Dorset had made it through to this stage but Winton’s team worked hard and showed good determination. After 4 hours of tennis they came a brilliant 2nd place for which the children received silver medals. They also had a question and answer session with Helen Corbin from the AFC Bournemouth ladies football team and met the fastest snowboarder in the world! Congratulations to everybody involved, especially our parents who were a great support all day long.
