Year 1 enjoyed a great start to their new topic ‘How is a frog different to a frog?’ this week by having a visit from the Creature teachers. They brought six different animals for the children to see and touch including a millipede, a bearded dragon, a chinchilla, a corn snake, a barn owl and a tomato frog.
The children were excellent at observing the animals closely and listening carefully as they learnt about the features of each group of animals ; birds, amphibians, fish, reptiles and mammals. The children also learnt some fascinating facts! Did you know that millipedes eat damp and decaying leaves?
