Carrying on from last term, year 5 are continuing to do weekly live lessons with Pie Corbett (a writing expert). Over the last couple of weeks, we have been writing our own version of a portal story that takes us through a mysterious door. Our stories have been influenced by the book ‘The Nowhere Emporium’ by Ross Mackenzie. We’ve worked hard to build in speech, suspense and vary our sentence starters. The sessions have also helped to develop our grammar knowledge and how to use different punctuation marks for effect.
