School Council!

We have welcomed our new school councillors in our first meeting this week. The school council have the chance to represent their classes as the voice of the school. We meet once a month with an agenda for something around school we can improve.

Last year we made changes to the play trail, bought more playtime toys and changed the food items we sell on the tuck shop. At the end of the year we raised money for a structure to be made over the outdoor cooking area so it can be used all year round. We hope to continue this this year. We also took our idea to the PFA for water stations to be placed around school to fill up bottles, this was installed in the summer holidays. I wonder what we will achieve this year.

This years school council met Mrs Arnold and Mrs Houlston who lead school council. We made a list of things we love about school and some ideas of this we would like to change. Our first task is to ask all our friends which new play equipment we would like to see on the play ground which the PFA have raised money for. We gave the classes some ideas, but can’t wait to hear some more suggestions.

Meet our councillors for 2026 –

These are our reps from Year 6. These girls will have extra responsibilities helping us run meetings and sending our messages to classes and teacher as well as collecting votes and suggestions from our suggestion boxes.

We are so looking forward to working with our reps and the whole of the school to make Winton Primary the best it can be. We look forward to our next meeting in November!
