The Reception classes enjoyed their hands-on learning adventure on a school trip to the Bournemouth Aviation Museum.
The children gained valuable first-hand experience by climbing inside an impressive variety of transport, eagerly sitting in the cockpits of real airplanes, stepping onto a double-decker bus, and steering the controls of helicopters and fire engines.
This promoted lots of imaginative role-play as the children transformed into courageous firefighters, skilled pilots and bus drivers, and helpful air hostesses.
The day really brought their classroom transport topic to life, gaining a meaningful understanding of different types of transport and a clear sense of how travel has changed and evolved over time, comparing old and new.
