After winning the Bournemouth Primary School’s Handball tournament last week there was a quick turnaround for the county Handball finals at Leaf Academy this week.
Teams from all over the county came to compete and Winton made an incredible start winning all six of their group games: Winton won 19-7 against St. Katherines 7, Winton won 15-5 versus Durweston, 16-11 v Canford Heath, 9-6 v St Marys, 11-4 v Bishop Aldems and 13-3 v St Ives.
In the Semi-finals they beat St Michael’s of Wimborne which meant Winton had reached the county final.
In the final with all schools watching, it was end to end goals and sporting tension. Winton eventually lost 14-13 to finish county runners up. Congratulations to all the children involved. You really did Mr Millar proud.
