Moving Vehicles in Year 2

Year 2 have been learning about animals and their habitats in science this half term. To follow on from this learning, they have enjoyed designing and making their own safari jeeps that would suit exploring different habitats and the animals that live there.

The children looked at different jeep toys and models that had previously been made for inspiration before planning their own designs.

Using their detailed drawings, the children then worked hard to build their jeeps using various sized boxes, dowels and wheels.

They carefully cut the cardboard and used different joining techniques to ensure they were securely attached. They then had to attach a dowel in the correct place on their vehicle so that the wheels would move properly. Finally, the children had to choose a set of wheels that would work best in the habitat their jeep was going to be exploring.

They all looked amazing! Well done, Year 2!
