Year 3 had a very exciting morning when they were visited by Andrew from The Toy Tribe!
Andrew brought in some of the sustainable toys that his company makes and spoke to the children about how he became a toy designer, stemming from a love of creating and drawing as a child. He also showed the children videos and pictures of how they design toys with sketches and computer programming, before creating them with big machines in the factory. The children learnt how perseverance and resilience are really key along the way.
Finally, Andrew helped the children to sketch and design their own toys.
As part of their DT project this half term, the children are busy designing and creating simple moving toys based on a spring themed book with the book and the toys being gifted to a few community childcare settings for them to use during story time. This visit really helped inspire them to design a great toy and helped them to think about the process involved.
