Good vibrations!

Year 4 kicked off their Autumn science unit on sound in fine style, by inviting an Irish folk band in to school. Paddy’s Dog are a local group who play traditional music on a range of instruments including an accordion, penny whistle and violin. Each member of the group explained how their instrument made it’s sound and how those sounds reach our ears. This was the perfect introduction to our unit, as we will be exploring the science of how we hear things throughout the term. Then the band played some songs in the traditional Ceilidh style, for the children to dance to! A caller, who gives out instructions, directed the children through the moves and we had a blast dancing to the music! A huge thank you to Paddy’s Dog for giving us such a fun way to launch our topic and well done to the Year 4 children for joining in with such enthusiasm
