Year 3 were really lucky to have a visit this week from Andrew Matthews, Head of Toy Design at The Toy Tribe. The Toy Tribe are a local company that specialise in eco-friendly toy design. This was a great way of kicking off our new DT topic where the children will be designing and creating their own small toys using levers and pulleys.
Andrew spoke about his interests as a child and how this led him to pursue a career in design. This was a really important message for our children in terms of our school driver, Aspiration.
The children loved learning about the process involved in designing and manufacturing toys and had some amazing questions for him. They definitely came away feeling inspired for their own projects this half term.
