Year 1 did a fantastic job of making bread as part of their DT learning. They even learnt to plait so they could create a plaited baguette!
The children had to follow a sequence of steps to make the bread. They started by gathering the ingredients they would need. Next, they read and followed the recipe using the weighing scales, cups and spoons to make sure they were adding the right amount of ingredients. After that, they had to wait for it to prove before they could plait it. Later on, after a little more proving, the bread was put into the oven to bake. Finally, and maybe the best step, was trying their bread. There were lots of thumbs up and “this is delicious” heard around the room. The bread did smell amazing. Great work, Year !
