Last term, year 1 read the book “The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch” and were not very happy to discover that the pigeons kept eating Mr Grinling’s lunch!
To help poor Mrs Grinling out, she wrote to year 1 and asked if they would help her make some sandwiches. In her letter, she included some instructions to follow entitled ‘How to make a sandwich.’
This week, the children followed the instructions and learnt how to cut ingredients safely and hygienically. They particularly liked the last instruction which read ‘Finally eat and enjoy!’
