We had a special guest in the school recently, CBeebies’ Chris Jarvis! Chris, also the writer, director and star of Poole’s Lighthouse Theatre’s Winter pantomimes, came into talk to Key Stage 2 about a range of subjects including books, storytelling and working in television and theatre.
He inspired the children by giving them a view of BBCs children’s programmes. He also told us about his work writing and directing pantomimes for television and theatre and how he himself is inspired by different stories. He finished by performing one of his favourite poems – Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes version of The Three Little Pigs.
As well as being very entertaining, it was clear from the excellent questions the children asked that they had also been really inspired to think about stories and perhaps even think about a career in television or theatre.
