In year 1 we have been learning to use evidence to find out about the past. We have looked at old photos and video footage of our local area and learnt that the high street used to look very different!
We have also learnt about shopping habits and how they were different in the past from now; We learnt that people used to have to visit lots of individual shops (like a butcher, grocer, haberdashery, confectionery etc) but now people can visit a supermarket and buy most of what they need, or even shop online!
