Mini-Olympics in year 5

Year Five have recently been studying Ancient Greece and, in particular, what the civilisation gave to the modern world. One of the most famous events invented in the time period is the Olympics which is now known through out the world! The children in year five donned laurel wreaths and competed in several events such as the standing jump, chariot wheel barrow racing, javelin and the sprint!
Lots of fun was had with the winners receiving a gold sash to signify their achievements!

We even managed an adults race which turned out to be one of the main events!
