Children in year three have been developing their computational thinking skills through use of a website called turtle playground. The task was to devise an appropriate algorithm and then program the turtle to get to the various different objects on the map.
One of the challenges was to collect all of the treasure. As you can see from the video below, the children came up with lots of different algorithms to achieve the same objective, which shows there are often lots of solutions to the same problem!
Meanwhile, in Year 6, children took part in more complex problem solving challenges and had access to additional programming blocks…
