Year 2 have been practising writing recounts. First, they chose their favourite day and created a story map by drawing the events of the day as they happened.
Next, they used their story map to create a story board of their favourite day. Children were encouraged to use the features of a good recount, such as chronological order, time connectives, emotive language, first person and adjectives to add extra detail.
Then they carefully wrote their recounts of their adventures. These included; a trip to Lanzarote, visits to Redhill Fair, a visit to Portsmouth, Bournemouth playing away at Tottenham, visiting a trampoline park, a day out at Bournemouth beach, a trip to Ikea and visiting Littledown Fair. What a busy time they had!
