Year 2 have been learning a talking text all about ‘The Rainbow Dragon’. They then imitated this non-chronological report and tried to add in extra adjectives and adverbs to improve the text.
Excitingly, they have now invented their own mythical creature.
We have a ‘dorse’, a horse and a three headed dog.
An ‘octo-foxo-catacorn’ a cross between a fox, cat, octopus and unicorn. 
And a rainbow fairy.
The children then planned their non-chronological report by drawing and writing about the appearance, diet, habitat and a fascinating fact.
So far the children have written the opening paragraph and the appearance. They can’t wait to write the rest next week!
