As a result of winning the Year 5/6 girls Football league and the Year 5 mixed Football league in our area, the two Winton teams went to play in the league finals last week, a champions league against other league winners in Bournemouth. The girls played a straight final against St. Katherine’s and the boys played a round robin league against Avonwood and St. James. Both teams gave a great account of themselves with the post denying the year 5 mixed team a last minute winner against Avonwood and some long range efforts from the girls so close to flying into the net! Although we didn’t win on the day the teachers have been very proud of the effort the children put in across the season. Considering we play 7 aside its incredible to report that 40 children in years 5/6 have had the opportunity to wear the Winton colours and been given the chance to represent the school against other schools in football.
