On a cold and foggy Tuesday in November the Year 5/6 netball team played their first home game of the year against Muscliff Primary. For 4 of our players it was their first experience of a competitive netball game and they quickly showed that their training in after school club was paying off as the team worked confidently together from the start. Each quarter the children rotate positions and get the opportunity to play in attacking and defensive positions.
Muscliff came with an experienced team, but Winton battled hard to stop them from scoring throughout the first quarter. The game finished 10-3 to Muscliff, with 3 fantastic goals scored for Winton which came as a result of some quick and efficient passing into the goal shooters. The whole team should be proud of their performance in their first game and we are looking forward to the next game in January.
