The Year 6 football team travelled to Littledown for their first tournament together. The children were excited to get out onto the pitch and showcase their skills. In the first group stages the team finished second highest, with a win, 2 draws and a loss. Plenty of lessons were learnt about tracking back to support the defence when the ball is lost but we were full of confidence going into the second round.
The team started the second round with a strong performance and won 3-0, we finished the afternoon with another win and a draw. Adults from other schools were acknowledging how supportive players in the team were of each other and there was great sportsmanship shown by all players during the matches towards the opposition and the referees. Well done Winton!
