In Year 1 the children have been colour mixing to make tints and shades. They added very small amounts of white paint to a colour to make tints. Each time they added a bit more white they painted a line on their strip of paper. They then added tiny amounts of black to their original colour to make shades, each time painting another line on their strip of paper. Making shades was much harder than making tints as the paint got much darker very quickly. The children then used these skills to paint a dinosaur using tints and shades. The children all worked very carefully when making tints and shades on their paper strips and when painting their dinosaur outlines. They look great. Well done everyone!
