Capturing the mood

In Year 5, we have been doing lots of work on the classic poem The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. We’ve spent this half term exploring the poem and understanding it. Inspired by the spooky setting that Noyes created, we wanted to capture it in a picture to go with our setting descriptions that we have written.

We explored perspective and how to use charcoal and pastels to create our desired effect. Using the first stanza, we chose a line which we wanted to base our own artwork on.
