Buddy artists in Year 1

We kicked off the new school year with art, art and a little bit more art!
Our theme was minibeasts and the children loved exploring different different techniques to make many different types of bugs.

They used ink and filter paper to make butterflies which are now hanging from the corridor, brightening up the area outside the staffroom.

Followed instructions on how to draw ants, which are now busy crawling under a rock in the Year 1 base.

Threaded beads onto pipe cleaners and scrunched tissue paper to make wiggly worms, joining the ants under the rock.

They painted paper plates with water colours to make 3D flowers for the garden.

We hope you like the displays the teachers have created from the amazing art work the children made.

Just when the children thought art was over we started our new learning based on portraits. They did such an amazing job of creating a pop art portrait in the style of Andy Warhol. They had a choice of King Charles, Maddox from CBeebies and Miss Churchward and Miss Criswicks favourite- Harry Styles!
