We have been so busy as school council this year!! At the end of the summer term, we had an ice-lolly to reflect all our hard work!
This year, we have been hard at work again, improving our school community. Not only have we shared our news in the newsletters and in assemblies. Every child has had a voice through their class representative, thank you to all of our school councillors for being such great helpers.
This year we have…
- Made sure play equipment in out every morning play. This has been really successful at making morning play time even more fun.
- We have changed the prizes we get for our certificate rewards. We chose ideas for the 150 sticker and 200 sticker prize which we collect in assembly.
- We have taken time to look in your year group suggestion boxes, make sure you remember to use these again next year.
- We did a school wide questionnaire asking what you enjoyed about our new topic curriculum. We found out that we enjoyed the practical subjects the most and enjoyed doing things practically.
- From this, the teachers fed this back in staff meeting which has informed planning going forward this year and into next.
- Year 5 children got trained up to do tours for new visitors around school, we will do this again next year too.
- We discussed crafts we could make for the summer fair, these were made and then sold. We raised an amazing £496.80. This money is going towards a roof for our outdoor kitchen. Watch this space for it being ready when we come back in September.
These are all super changes to our school which I’m sure your friends in your classes would agree, you should be really proud of.
Have the best summer, we might see you as some of our councillors next year!
Mrs Arnold, Mrs Houlston and Mrs Robinson. 😊
