Winton Primary Shine at Town Sports Athletics
Last week, 30 talented athletes from Winton Primary proudly represented the school at the annual Town Sports Athletics Competition held at Kings Park Athletics Stadium.
The team enjoyed a fantastic day of competition, demonstrating outstanding determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout. Before the athletics even began, our pupils got the event off to a brilliant start by leading all 30 participating schools in an energetic warm-up dance!
There were many superb performances across the day, with several pupils achieving outstanding results against the best young athletes from across Bournemouth.
A special congratulations goes to our Year 6 Girls’ Relay Team of Jess, Jasmine, Jess and Daisy, who were crowned Town Champions in the 4 x 100m relay. Another Town Champion title was secured by Sonia, who produced an excellent performance to win the Year 4 Girls’ 60m Sprint.
Our Year 6 Boys’ Relay Team also impressed, finishing as Bournemouth runners-up in the 4 x 100m relay.
There were further individual successes throughout the competition:
- Jasmine T – 2nd place in the Town Final for the Year 6 Girls’ 150m.
- Jessica T – 3rd place in the Town Final for the Year 6 Girls’ 75m Sprint.
- Jesse – 3rd place in the Town Final for the Year 6 Boys’ 75m Sprint.
- Poppy M – Qualified for the Town Final in the Year 5 Girls’ 75m Sprint.
- Bengi P – 2nd place in Bournemouth for the Year 6 Boys’ Throwing event.
- Jessica C – 2nd place in Bournemouth for the Year 6 Throws competition.
- Jessica R – Performed superbly in the Long Jump competition.
Every athlete represented Winton Primary with pride, showing excellent effort, resilience and support for one another throughout the day. The pupils were a credit to themselves, their families and the school.
