Helpful Hounds!

This week Winton Primary was delighted to welcome Peter the Lead Ambassador from Helpful Hounds, the charity our whole school has voted to support this year. Peter was joined by Rafa the charity’s wonderful ambassador dog.

During a special assembly Mr Millar, The Fundraising Team and Peter explained how helpful hounds supports both young people and adults with their mental health challenges through the use of these wonderful animals. This helps to enrich and improve their daily lives. The school learnt about the important work the charity does and how our support can make a real difference.

To help raise money for Helpful Hounds Winton is currently doing our ‘Change for Change!’ initiative where the children are encouraged to bring small change such as a 1p or 2p coin to a class pot. Collectively across the whole school this could make a much larger total! Also Winton pupils are currently ‘Hanging Tough,’ where children can donate £1 on Arbor to participate in a challenge of strength which also goes towards this fantastic cause.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Keep it coming so we can reach our target of £5000 by the end of the year!
