Inspired by the work of Georgia O’Keeffe, Year 3 spent the last week before the Easter Holidays creating their own pieces of artwork using oil pastels. Using images of colourful flowers, they used the skills they had learnt over the half term to produce a bright and vibrant piece of work, focussing in on small aspects of the original pictures used as inspiration.

They then created a small ‘art gallery’ in the classroom, allowing their classmates to look at each other’s work and ask one another questions about the techniques they used. Finally, the children revisited their work after the Easter Holidays to evaluate what they had done, thinking about how they had been successful, what they found difficult, and what they would do to make their work even more successful in future.
