Maths has been full of fun and challenges this week in Year 4! We have been learning how to calculate the perimeter of 2D shapes and have also been busy becoming times table experts by recalling multiplication and division facts for the 6 and 7 times tables.
The children have worked incredibly hard this term to strengthen their times table knowledge, which will not only support their maths learning across the curriculum but also help them feel confident and prepared for the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in June next year.
To make our learning exciting and memorable, we have been singing catchy times table songs, competing in fun multiplication games, and using arrays to help us spot patterns and work out multiplication and division facts. It has been fantastic to see the children’s confidence grow as they tackle new challenges and develop their fluency with number facts.
