This term we have been learning how ancient artists used simple tools and materials to create art. We learnt that long ago, people like the Egyptions and Greeks made art using clay, stone and paint from crushed rocks. We also learnt that they used simple tools like sticks, feathers and sharp stones to make their art. Some art, like special stones were called ‘Kudurrus’, and they showed kings looking strong and important.
The children were asked to re-create a clay ‘Kudurrus’ tablet and choose to show either bravery, love or tragedy through making ‘etchings’ with tools on their clay.
