We have been really busy in Year One learning all about seascapes in our art lesson.
We have spent time looking at 3 different sea artists. Ivan Aivazovsky, a Russian artist who is famous for painting seascapes and setting mood. Joseph Turner, an English artist from London who is known for landscapes and using darker colours to make a stormy scene. and finally, Hokuisai who is a Japanese painter and printer who is famous for his paintings of mountains and oceans. His most famous work is ‘The wave’, which has been printed over 30,000 times.
Today we made our own seascapes. We spent time experimenting with the water colours, using more and less water to make the colours lighter or darker. These are our seascapes inspired by the artists we have been learning about this half term.
