Our writing this half term in Year 6 is based around the possibilities of doors and what they can lead to. We will be writing our own portal door narrative but leading up to it, we are immersing ourselves with our understanding of idioms and how we can create imagery for our reader. To do this, we have looked at the poem The Door by Miroslav Holub. We discussed what we thought it meant, thought about what the author wanted us to imagine and considered how we could perform it. We text mapped the poem before learning it and performing it with our own actions.
