Year 3 begun their Money topic in maths this week. Here you can see them familiarising themselves with the different coins and notes, and matching them to their values.
The children recognised that amounts can be made in many different ways and practiced using a range of coins to make different amounts.
When they were confident, they then practiced ‘buying’ items from a bingo card using pounds and pence.
Over the next couple of weeks, they will be adding and subtracting amounts of money, converting between pounds and pence, and learning how to give change.
