In DT this half term Year 1 designed their own decorations using the Sketches School app, thinking about the colours they wanted to use, whether they wanted to use tie dye or sequins. The children used pens and sequins to decorate a piece of fabric, before drawing around a template and cutting the shape out. The final step was to follow their design and sew and stick their decoration together. Year 5 kindly supported them to follow the instructions and help them with their sewing. The finished products were fantastic! The children were very proud of themselves. They decided they wanted to sell their decorations to raise money for Hope for Food. What super stars! Well done Year 1!
