Year 6 started the year with an incredible visitor who helped to inspire their art work. We were visited by professional illustrator Laura Cuppage whose work focuses on nature but in particular animals. Laura told us about the range of different work that she has taken part in such as working in collaboration with London Zoo to create their adoption packs and illustrate a range of books.
After an introduction in the hall where she showed us her work, talked through her career and answered questions, each class were lucky enough to take part in masterclass with her focusing on sketching birds.
After initial sketches and advice from Laura, we started to create our final pieces. Once sketched out, she taught us a range of watercolour and pencil colouring techniques to help us bring our birds to life.
We loved Laura coming in and it helped us to understand a range of careers that we could aspire to.
