Inspired by the original, authentic mosaics that we saw at Dorchester Museum as part of our Romans topic, Year 3 have been busy designing and creating their very own mosaic. We learnt that wealthy Romans had mosaics in their walls, ceilings and floors. They were made up of thousands of pieces of stone and glass called tesserae.
Working with a partner, each child designed and created their own mosaic tile. We then put together all of these tiles together to create one giant mosaic displayed in our base area.
