Year 2 have been enjoying learning about measure in maths.
They have explored capacity, length, temperature and mass.
They used different containers and coloured water to explore capacity and volume and compare containers. Then they had to read the scales on the containers to find the volume.
The children worked in pairs to explore weighing and mass of objects. They used balance scales to compare objects and use words such as ‘heavier’ and ‘lighter’ to describe. Then reading scales to find the exact mass was needed.
The children loved using the rulers to investigate length and used words such as ‘longer’ and ‘shorter’ to compare.
